Industry Credit Groups:

Why Join an Industry Credit Group: There is strength in numbers. When you belong to an Industry Credit Group - your industry - communication is much better between members than it is with outsiders to your group, and you have the ability to network with your peers on common processes and problems. As a member of the Industry Credit Group, you are assured the other Credit Manager's are always available for you to call. Industry Group members report their Accounts Receivable balances each month to create a strong report showing how the industry is paid. From this information, a customer's payment history is able to be scored to provide you with insight as to how he pays his bills within your industry. Following are Credit Groups already being hosted by BPCA^™:

Business Products Credit Group:

The pilot industries for the founding of BPCA^™in 1875 were office products, stationery, and office furniture. Through the 130+ years since its beginning, the office products and office furniture industries have made many changes - changes that have impacted the customer base of the manufacturer and wholesaler. The National Credit Group ("NCG") is open to credit personnel of manufacturers, wholesalers, and factors selling the Mass Merchandisers, Discount Stores, Independent Dealers, Superstores, Department Stores, Food & Drug markets/channels. The NCG holds 4 Credit Interchange Meetings (in addition to the Annual Credit Conference) in various geographic locations. Certain of these meetings are held by means of telephone conference calls. Participants are able to submit accounts and topics for discussion at these meetings. As with all meetings, the NCG meetings are monitored for full compliance of the antitrust laws. Educational programs are presented in conjunction with most meetings, and debtors are always invited to make presentations on their company. Jan/San Credit Group:

This industry group was formed in 1995, and is the only recognized and supported industry credit group for janitorial and sanitary supply companies by ISSA™ (International Sanitary Supply Association). This group of manufacturers and wholesalers hold 2 Group Interchange Meetings per year (some of these may be by conference call). They, too, share in the educational programs available through BPCA^™. National School Suppliers Credit Group:

The National School Supply Credit Group is an industry specific group comprised of manufacturers and wholesalers selling to resellers of school products, Universities, school bookstores, and to school districts. Toy manufacturer's are included in this group. This group meets two times a year – spring and fall. Members of this credit group cover all products provided to the school system and students.

National Deduction Resolution Group:

The National Deduction Resolution Group is a separate group from the Credit Groups. This group is for all manufacturers and wholesalers – regardless of their industry channel. Membership in the NDRG is for Company representatives from customer service, accounts receivable, credit, sales, and anyone with the responsibility for reconciliation and resolution of deductions.

The National Deduction Resolution Group has 3 meetings per year. Members of this group have the availability of an online Deduction Reporting System^© (DRS^©) designed especially for them. Members report deductions – in an aging format – by customer, number and type. Members are then able to determine customers that take a large volume of deductions. credit people.
